So, I've been having a bit of a long, hard think about The Crafterie and what I want from it, where it currently is and what kind of business I want.
As some of you may know, I have so little time to spend on this lovely little business of mine because I spend the vast majority of my time being mum to two small boys. So, that means a lot of picking up food off the floor, running around in parks, peeling wet and muddy clothes off very fidgety kids and lots of reading Thomas the Tank Engine books. Once all that business is done, that leaves me only a handful of hours to spend on The Crafterie, and those hours are spent packing orders and fiddling about with online shops. And not that I'm ungrateful for this, because I appreciate so much each order that comes in because it is support for my tiny little venture.
But the things that excite me are not packing orders. It is all the stuff that swims around my head all day and all the things that, at the moment, all I can do is say "one day I'd like to...". Stuff like writing tutorials and making kits, putting together party bundles and stationery packs, lots more photos and making things look pretty. More events and meeting people.
So, I have decided that after Christmas, I will be changing The Crafterie a little bit. I'm going to be closing the shop down in its current format. I am going to be focussing on creating more tutorials and kits and just more inspirational stuff. I will still be keeping my eye out for beautiful and unusual craft supplies, stationery and party ware, but these will be sold at fairs and markets around the country, pop up shops and on occasional special event sales from time to time.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you so much for all your support with my shop. It has been so appreciated and each sale or like or share has absolutely made my day. And I hope that you will continue to support me as I start this new chapter. If you're here, I guess you like crafts and/or stationery and/or making parties look amazing. And if you like all that, then the "new" Crafterie will definitely be something you'll want to stick around for.
In the meantime, if there is something in the shop you'd like to get, please do so as I won't be re-stocking any out of stock items.
We'll be taking a short break after Christmas to get things sorted and will be returning in the early Spring.
